Mat Making for the Homeless

Wednesday, December 12, 2018

12:00 Noon

Upper Level of the Formation Building Saint Albert the Great Location

This activity is sponsored by the Holy Apostles Parish Ladies of Charity.

All are welcome to come and help. There is something for you to do. At this mat making session we will be introducing mats needed for various activities by our troops to carry in their back packs. These small mats are approximately 15” by 22” but also require strips cut from plastic bags and crocheted as well. So, we are in need of more crocheters and will teach anyone interested in learning the art of crocheting. You are welcome to crochet at home if you prefer. Please come to the session for an explanation, details, bags, yarn balls, etc. and see the finished product.

We welcome everyone and you do not need to be a Lady of Charity to join us.

Luminaria Sale

Sunday, December 15, 2018
Deadline for Orders

Luminaries are a tradition in the Southwest and Mexico. Christians there place white bags with lit candles inside along the walkway to their houses on Christmas Eve. They burn the candles as a guide to the Christ Child -- welcoming Him into their homes and announcing to the world that they are celebrating His glorious birth.

This year, the Youth Ministry teens will be making Christmas Luminaries for parishioners. Proceeds will benefit CCSP Youth Ministry.

Parishioners are invited to request Luminaries in memory or honor of loved ones or for other special intentions.

Suggested Donation is $3.00.

Your luminaries will be placed around the outside of the Church and lit on Christmas Eve -- burning well into the wee hours of the morning.

Please return you order forms to the rectory Sunday December 16.               PRINT ORDER FORM

March for Life

Friday, January 18, 2019

Washington DC

Deacon Tim is organizing a bus trip for the 2019 March for Life, which will take place on Friday, January 18th in Washington, DC. Since the 1973 Supreme Court cases, Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton, which legalized abortion-on-demand in our country, over 60 million lives have been lost to abortion. Ending abortions and promoting a culture of life is why we march each year.

Deacon Tim is trying to determine which size bus to reserve for our group. If you are interested in joining us, please send an email to

If you cannot join us, please pray for our safety on the trip and for the end to abortion. "Silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless." - Dietrich Bonhoeffer
