Mat Making for the Homeless

Wednesday, October 17, 2018

12:00 Noon

Upper Level of the Formation Building Saint Albert the Great Location
This activity is sponsored by the Holy Apostles Parish Ladies of Charity
All are welcome to come and help. There is something for you to do. At this mat making session we will be introducing mats needed for various activities by our troops to carry in their back packs. These small mats are approximately 15” by 22” but also require strips cut from plastic bags and crocheted as well. So, we are in need of more crocheters and will teach anyone interested in learning the art of crocheting. You are welcome to crochet at home if you prefer. Please come to the session for an explanation, details, bags, yarn balls, etc. and see the finished product.
We welcome everyone and you do not need to be a Lady of Charity to join us.

Festival of Praise

ACCEPTING GOD'S LOVE AND MERCY

We may often think we are not good enough to deserve God’s love and mercy. In reality we can never do anything in life for us to “deserve” God’s love and Mercy. We need to accept the fact that God has painfully paid the price for us with the death of His Son, Jesus. All we have to do is accept it.

Our guest speaker and presider will be Father Joe Freedy currently Parochial Vicar at Holy Child and St. Barbara Parishes in the Bridgeville area. Father Joe has been described as a contemporary speaker, in touch with the moment, someone who understands real life, is reflective and also contemplative. At our November’s service Father Joe’s teaching will surely bring a new perspective to how we learn to accept Gods love and mercy.

In addition to Father Freedy teaching, the service includes adoration of the Blessed Sacrament ending with benediction. An open invitation is extended to you to join with us in celebrating the love of Jesus.

You are encouraged to visit the Festival of Praise page in the Holy Apostles Parish website. There you will find many pictures and videos of previous services. Our Praise Band Repertoire now includes more than forty beautiful songs and continues to grow monthly. Many of these songs can viewed and listened to on You Tube as performed by the recording artist.

ALL ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND!
